“Do what you love most. Even if you don’t see the point right now. Life will give you back if you share love and kindness”
My name is Maria, a definitely dog person, architecture lover, cooking for friends and (big) family is my favorite part in life, and I am always looking for a re-use/re-purpose in everything! My life motto is «οὐκ ἐν τῷ πολλῷ τὸ εὖ, ἀλλ᾿ ἐν τῷ εὖ τὸ πολύ» Αριστοτέλης – “Quality over quantity” Aristotle.
When I am not searching or writing for Greek Products I am a Greek designer in interior, graphics and events. I have worked with architects and retail brands in Interior Design, and helped start-up and businesses to build their professional identity and audience. Take a look at my Linkedin profile and contact me if you would like to work for your project, too.
welcome
to my blog!
A showcase full with
beautiful stories of inspired, creative people!
Probably you have visited Greece before or never before.
Maybe you are half Greek living abroad, or somehow you are related with Greece.
Excellent! Me too! I am a greek designer recently relocated in the Netherlands
and my passion is searching, writing and reviewing Greek Products!
Let me introduce you to the more intriguing face of Greece,
the unknown stories of creators, producers, living traditions, new artists and
so on. In Greek Products Abroad people unfold their own stories and you see the authenticity of
Greece.
My story
I started blogging about Greek products a few years ago,
while in my effort to fight back unemployment I became a correspondent for a
Greek -Australian magazine blog. That worked as a kick-start for me to
bounce back and focus on the “good news” happening around. This mindset changed my life completely.
Two years ago I was fortunate to meet the man of my dreams
through my blog. Who knew that sharing on Facebook a video about Crete would
bring in my life a beautiful person, we would fall in love and I would move in to
another (so flat) country?
I took a gap year to breath in all the changes in my life
and to redesign the layout in a more comfortable reading version.
Today, you can sit back and enjoy reading about books ( captive sun), artists ( zacharoula)
(kolyvas), composer ( zero)(vaggelis stefanopoulos), tradition ( skandalopetra)
, cultural journas ( voices of Hellenism), design ( kontaki design), growing
family bussines ( Myconian collection) ( hellenic plasterwork), organic (eliris
olive oil) (5 extra olive oil), handcrafted ( xylo eyewear), or simple
extraordinary stories ( japanese stories, relocating to Athens), unspoiled
eateries (Pezoula) and many more.
The new logo
I would like to describe our logo.
Blue boat: represents the greek stories, valuable to us,
that unfold and travel globally through our blog.
Fonts: we use the GFS Artemisia, since our goal is to
promote the greek creators, we couldn’t use other than a greek designed font
for our logo. For more: [ www.greekfontsociety.gr]
The type family GFS Artemisia was designed by the painter-engraver Takis
Katsoulidis and reflects his style and typographic acumen. It is largely his
effort to offer, from a different perspective, a type face which, like Times
Greek, would be applicable to a wide spectrum of uses and equally agreeable and
legible. The typeface has been digitised by George D. Matthiopoulos.
I wanted to speak out about them and share the hope that
these beautiful stories filled with enthusiasm, inspiration and creativity, can
bring.
